The activities of Cooperative sector clearly indicates the importance of public relation in communicating the strength of cooperative movement to the General Public, Cooperative Members, Employees, potential members, Cooperators through information. For information activities, Union is bringing out a fortnightly News Letter “The Samabaya Samachar” & one quarterly Magazine “The Kalyani”. Union also under takes for the publication of Profile & Broucher issued by Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Odisha. The total cost of printing is borne by Union from the Grant-in-aid of Govt. in every year. The Union under-takes the important activity of publishing Books, Booklets on different subjects of cooperatives in Odia & distributes among the Cooperative societies, Cooperative leaders and on subscription basis to those who are interested in the field of Coop. movement. Union’s publications have their own image. The different publications are mentioned in below.

Samabaya Samachar

The “Samabaya Samachar” acts as main spokesman of the Odisha State Cooperative Union in which news covering different aspects of cooperatives in Odisha as well as other parts of the country is published. It also touches news in the field of Agriculture & Rural development. This News letter is regularly published & special issues are being brought out on the eve of All India Coop. Week. Each issue is being published and sent to cooperative organizations those are paying Cooperative Education Fund & Membership Subscription to the State Coop. Union & free of cost to all Short Term Credit Cooperative Societies working in the state in every fortnight.

Kalyani

Another publication of the Odisha State Cooperative Union is Kalyani, the only Magazine in the Cooperative Sector. “The Kalyani” is a very popular name in the field of cooperative movement and well recognized in every corner of Odisha. It consist of articles on Cooperation, Agriculture, Animal husbandry, Fishery, Weavers, Rural Industry, Rural Development, Women sector, Irrigation, Small & Cottage Industry etc. Special issue of Kalyani is brought out on the eve of All India Coop. Week in every year. Kalyani is also being widely circulated to cooperatives those are contributing Cooperative Education Fund and Membership Subscription to Odisha State Coop. Union as well as free of cost to the short term credit coop. societies.

Guideline Booklet for Cooperative Week Celebration

On the occasion of All India Cooperative Week celebration, Union publishes “Guideline Booklet” in Odiya Language & distribute the same to almost all cooperatives of the state.

Profile

The Union also publishes “A Profile” i.e. “Cooperative Movement in Odisha” which is issued by the Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Odisha. The entire cost of profile printing in every year is borne by Odisha State Cooperative Union.

Broucher

Odisha State Coop. Union also publishes “A Broucher” that is “Cooperative Movement in Odisha” which is also issued by the Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Odisha. The cost of Broucher printing in every year is borne by Odisha State Coop. Union.

Books on Cooperative Movement

Odisha State Cooperative Union has published two valuable books on Cooperative movement in Odisha, One is “The Cooperative Movement, Genesis & Prognosis” and the other one is “Samabaya Satabdire Odisha”. The above two books are very much useful for reference of the research scholars and students in the sphere of Cooperative movement.

Aam Samabaya Upare Soochana

The Odisha State Cooperative Union has published a book i.e. “Aam Samabaya Upare Soochana” during the hundred fifty eighth birth ceremony of Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das, the Pioneer of Cooperative movement in Odisha. This book contains the registration procedure of Cooperative societies and about Self Help Groups. It is very easy to understand and helpful to the common people at a large.

Bye Laws & Application Forms of Different Cooperative Societies

The Union initiates publication of all types of Bye-laws and Application forms of Cooperative Societies and supply to the needy persons on nominal price.
